United States of America: From United to Divided

According to one university professor, this is what's going to happen if the United States of America crumbles into pieces. Dr. Igor Panarin, Dean of the Academy of Diplomatic Relations in Russia, said that if the United Stated becomes severely under international pressure and weakens, it will be split into six parts: the Californian Republic, the Central North-American Republic, the Atlantic America, Alaska, Hawaii and the Texas Republic.

The photos further imply that the Californian Republic will be part of China or under Chinese influence. The Central North-American Republic will be part of Canada or under Canadian influence. The Atlantic America may join the European Union. Alaska will go to Russia, while Hawaii will go to Japan or China. And the Texas Republic will part of Mexico or under the Mexican influence. But, it seems to me, that this projection is way too far from happening, considering the fact that the States have been compact for the last 200 years.

What's your view on this matter? Is unity a lingering challenge for North America?
